The GameOver project has launched its Early Detection Instrument (EDI), a practical online tool that helps educators recognise early signs of problematic gaming among students aged 12 to 16.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The tool is now available in five languages and features three core components:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. EDI Handbook<\/span><\/b>
    \nA comprehensive guide offering insights from field research carried out in Lithuania, Greece, Spain, and Bulgaria. It provides essential background on the causes and warning signs of problematic gaming, along with concrete prevention and intervention strategies for school professionals.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Student Questionnaire<\/span><\/b>
    \nThis is completed under teacher supervision. It includes questions on gaming habits and selected personality traits, offering a score-based indication of possible risk. The results guide the teacher on whether further steps may be needed.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Teacher Questionnaire<\/span><\/b>
    \nDesigned to complement or stand alone from the student survey, this tool allows teachers to reflect on a specific student\u2019s behaviours and assess potential signs of gaming-related difficulties.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Both questionnaires provide scores that classify students into low, moderate, or high risk categories. The aim is not diagnosis, but early awareness and support.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    The EDI is now live and accessible through the GameOver website. It is a key part of the project\u2019s broader mission to help schools respond to the growing challenge of gaming-related issues.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
