A new practical tool for parents who want to better understand and effectively support children with learning difficulties is now available in Greek through the European ACCESS project.
The Toolkit for Parents is now freely accessible through the project’s official website. Its aim is to provide parents with simple, clear, and practical guidance on how to recognise possible learning difficulties and support their children effectively in everyday life.
The material is mainly addressed to parents of primary school children, but it can also be useful for teachers and other professionals working with children and families.
A Tool Written in Simple Language
Unlike many theoretical manuals, the Toolkit has been designed in simple and accessible language, without complicated terminology. It includes practical advice, examples, and everyday strategies that can be directly applied at home.
Parents can find information about:
- dyslexia,
- dyscalculia,
- dysgraphia,
- attention and concentration difficulties,
- as well as ways to strengthen children’s self-confidence and independence.
At the same time, the Toolkit places special emphasis on collaboration between families and schools, highlighting the importance of parents and teachers working together as a team.
From Theory to Practice
The main goal of the ACCESS project is to strengthen inclusive education and help teachers and families address emerging learning difficulties at an early stage.
The Toolkit for Parents is one of the three tools developed within the project and complements the e-learning course and the Digital Library for teachers.
The philosophy behind the Toolkit is simple: small practical actions can make a big difference when a child struggles with learning. From organising study time at home to strengthening emotional support, parents can play a key role in their child’s educational journey.
