DAMET Project Kicks Off in Slovenia: Building the Foundations for Digital and Micro-Credential Innovation in Adult Education

The DAMET – Digital Advancement and Micro-credentialing in Education for Teachers Erasmus+ project officially launched with its Kick-off Meeting held on 9–10 October 2025 in Ptuj, Slovenia, hosted by Ljudska univerza Ptuj. Partners from Slovenia, Lithuania, Italy, France, Greece, and Spain came together to align on a shared vision: strengthening adult educators’ digital competences and advancing micro-credential systems across Europe.

The meeting brought together adult educators, education professionals, and project partners to review the project structure, objectives, and timeline. Coordinated by the Slovenian host organisation, the first day focused on introducing partners, clarifying governance arrangements, and presenting the core Work Packages. These include the creation of a Digital Competency Development Platform (DCDP), the development of a European-oriented micro-credential framework, international training activities, and pilot implementation.

A key milestone was the detailed discussion of Work Package 2, which sets the groundwork for mapping existing micro-credential practices across the EU and developing an e-learning programme on AI-supported digital tools for adult educators. Partners stressed the need for flexibility and relevance, recognising the rapid evolution of AI technologies and the diverse contexts of adult learning.

The second day addressed practical management issues, including reporting, budgeting, and quality assurance, followed by in-depth planning of upcoming activities. Partners agreed on concrete next steps, including comparative research on micro-credential systems, focus groups to identify priority digital and AI competences, and online coordination meetings to maintain momentum.

The DAMET Kick-off Meeting marked a strong and structured start. By bringing together education providers, researchers, and practitioners, the project set a clear path toward empowering adult educators, supporting innovation in learning provision, and contributing to policy-relevant micro-credential practices across Europe.
